Monday Magic Jan. 27 - Trevor Carlton Painting Performance Art

Time Lapse painting at EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

Trevor Carlton is a fan favorite of Disney art fans, not only because of his extreme talent and beautiful artwork but also because he demonstrates how he creates a piece of art in about 20 minutes.

This video shows Carlton creating Orange Bird. While it took him 16 minutes and 37 seconds to make this piece of art (which is speedy), we sped it up so you can see all he does in 103 seconds.

Carlton is a Disney Fine Artist who focuses on Disney characters and scenes. According to his official bio from Disney Fine Arts, he was born in 1972 in Olympia, Washington. He initially pursued acting, attending the prestigious Lee Strasberg Acting Workshop in Los Angeles. While pursuing his acting career, he worked in a custom furniture store, where he discovered his passion for painting. Using reclaimed lumber as his canvas, he developed a unique style, painting images of Americana with a distressed, vintage look.

Trevor's artistic journey has taken him beyond traditional canvases. He has incorporated his art into performance pieces, showcasing his work throughout the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom.

The video showcases Carlton's rendition of Orange Bird, a character commissioned by Disney in 1969 for the Florida Citrus Commission. Orange Bird debuted in 1971 as a mascot to promote the Enchanted Tiki Room and Sunshine Tree Terrace at Magic Kingdom.
